This is what you can make on a lathe with a knurling tool.
It’s very easy to make.
The rolls are made from hardened steel and i have buy them by
www.buitelaar.nl for 2 euro 50 each.

First we make the T part.
My part is 100mm by 50mm
|
|
|
I cut off two pieces. 80mm X 17mm
|
|
|
Measure the roll
|
|
|
The cam is 0.1mm thicker than the roll
|
|
|
The first part is ready.
|
|
|
Now we gonna make this part.
We need two of them.
The dimensions are
100mm X 20mm X 15mm
|
|
|
First we cut of one side.
The hole is height 17 mm width is the thickness of the cam + 0.05mm
At the other side of the block we do the same but then with the thickness of the roll + 0.05mm
|
|
|
At the side of the cam we chamfer the edge. It doesn’t matter how big the side is.
At the other side of the block ( where the roll must come ) you must chamfer 2 sides
|

At the cam side we drill a hole of 6 mm through the whole block
|
|
|
At the side of the roll we drill a hole in the upper part with 6 mm and with the same drill we make a center in the lower part. There we must use a drill of 5mm to make m5 screw threat

Clamp the two parts together like this. ( look to the 2 chamfer edges on the cam part. ) and drill a 12mm hole in the middle through the blocks

Turn the blocks for 90 degrees and drill a 10mm hole through the 2 blocks like this.

|
|
Make 2 parts like this. round 11.8mm and 20mm long. The hole is M6
|
|
|
Assemble the parts and enjoy your knurling tool.

Tip : Use a spring between the two blocks.
